Delegated Proof of Stake roles and concepts

ADA staking rewards – newly minted supply of Cardano cryptocurrency created by the Stake Pool Operators when new blocks are certified

ADA Reserves – coins that have not yet been minted and have not yet entered the circulation

Delegator – assigns authority to mint ADA on their behalf from the newly created supply to a Stake Pool Operator
Stake Pool – transaction validator and block producer on the Blockchain

Stake Pool Operator – runs computers that validate transactions on the Blockchain, to make new blocks on the Blockchain and secure the network

EPOCH – a period of computing time on the Blockchain, approximately
5 days
Slottery – random assignment of slots to be completed by stake pools as they verify and process transactions
Block – records transactions like a page in a ledger book
